In the middle of our vacation week in Florida, we took a break from the beach and drove to St. Augustine to visit the Alligator Farm.  Truth told, everyone was reluctant to go and it felt like Daddy was dragging his family to a fun activity (I hoped).  As soon as Chloe Jane saw the parking lot and entrance, she said, “It’s too crowded, Daddy.”  It really wasn’t but she knows that we don’t go into restaurants sometimes because “it’s too crowded” and she figured we would drive on.  Cara said, “Carry me Daddy, it’s too hot” which it actually was but you can’t stay in the house.  Even Ruth wanted to ditch at the last minute and go to a mini-golf place we had just passed.  But once we were there, everyone had a great time.  It was really like a small zoo.  Lots of alligators and crocodiles, of course, but also birds, giant tortoises, large snakes and small monkeys.

On the way back from the Alligator Farm, we stopped to cool off at a cute little ice cream and cupcake place.  Then everyone was completely sold on Daddy’s day trip.

Yeah, kids–Alligators, ice cream and cupcakes–How you like me NOW!!!
