You don’t have to go to the zoo to find wild animals. Ruth and I took the family to the Yellow River Game Ranch. It has deer, bears, goats, buffaloes, burros, peacocks, rabbits, foxes and mountain lions. You walk along a wooded trail and you can feed most of the animals (not the mountain lion). The girls loved being able to get so close to the animals and feed them carrots and other snacks. When Cara saw the bears, she asked if one was Baloo (from The Jungle Book). I think those bears were a lot closer to a circus than they were to any forest or jungle.
