After opening presents and eating our ebelskiver breakfast, we headed to Highlands, North Carolina to stay in Hugh’s cabin. The girls call it the “Christmas Cabin.” Holly drove up with us and my parents joined us there for a few days. I think the kids really like it because they have our undivided attention for a full week. We’ll probably have to remind them one day how they used to like nothing more than to spend a whole week with their parents in a cabin.
We had a great week. We hung around the cabin when it rained; we shopped and ate in town on occasion; we hiked and played outdoors; we baked chocolate goodies; we watched movies, football and basketball; we made crafts; we read books and iPads; we played games at the lodge; we cooked big breakfasts and dinners and enjoyed everyone’s company.
