One evening at the cabin in Highlands, we tried to spot some deer around the property. At dusk, we staked out a spot near one of the deer feeders and waited. We told the kids to keep quiet and watch for deer.

Eventually, the kids decided the deer were not coming to them so they got out of the car and went to look for the deer themselves. The results weren’t any better. My guess is there were probably deer at the wood line waiting to go to the feeder but after seeing our crew probably said to each other, “I’m not going out there until after the circus leaves town.” “Yeah, me too. I can wait.”
