On our last day, we visited EPCOT. One of the highlights was visiting with Crush from “Finding Nemo” at Turtle Talk. Crush engages in an interactive comedy routine. During the routine, he called on Chloe Jane (because of her pig tails) and asked her some questions. The last one he asked was who brought her to Disney World and she said her Dad did. Crush then asked for me to identify myself. He talked to me some and then dubbed me “Dangerous Dave” and would come back to me a few more times during his comedy skit. He said that I was just getting started since I had only three kids compared to the 65 that he had. It was fun for Chloe Jane and me to be part of the entertainment.
Lunchtime at EPCOT was a highlight. We had lunch at Belle’s Akershus House in Norway along with all the classic princesses.
After lunch, we went to Soarin’ which is a movie/ride experience that makes you feel like you’re flying. For some reason, Tommy just didn’t want to do it. Probably because he didn’t have his nap. But I told him, he would like it because it would make him feel like he was flying. He told me, “I’m never going to feel like I’m flying.” The experience was awesome! Afterwards, Tommy was jumping up and down shouting, “Daddy, I felt like I was flying! Let’s do it again!” Alas, there was no way we were doing it again. We all went after lunch because we had FastPasses for that time. When we got out of Soarin’, the posted wait time was 85 minutes. No way we’re waiting in that line!
We were so close to the resort, we were able to walk back and let the kids have a nap before returning to the World Showcase to have dinner at the German Biergarten. Great food, great beers and great German music. All three kids got out and danced on the floor. The vacation ended with Ruth and I sipping champagne as we all watched the EPCOT fireworks show, Illuminations.
The next morning, we said good-bye to the awesome Disney Yacht Club and headed back to Atlanta.
THE END !!!
