Before leaving for Highlands, NC, Chloe Jane and Cara went downstairs to see if Santa Claus had, in fact, come to town. The night before Christmas, Chloe Jane had left some cookies out for St. Nick that she helped bake and helped decorate.

Holly was in town for Christmas (just ahead of ol’ St. Nick). Chloe Jane enjoyed playing with silly putty she found in her stocking with Aunt Holly–only she didn’t call it silly putty; she called it “icky, gooey, oh.”

Chloe Jane was afraid of the train noises at first but eventually warmed up to it. Cara liked anything and everything within arms reach.

After the girls finished opening presents, Ruth made ebelskivers for everyone complete with fresh strawberries, honey and confection sugar. Each bite was a little piece of heaven.

holy cow ya’ll….Chloe Jane is incredibly gorgeous and I am NOT just saying that! She could do child modeling and pay her way to private school. And Cara must be on Miracle Grow or something b/c she is like 5 already.
What is ebelskivers and how do I learn to make them?? Happy 2009! love, Stephanie Mattison
