Chloe Jane and Cara had never been to Disney World before so they had no idea what to anticipate. They did, however, understand and anticipate having breakfast at Cinderella’s castle and being able to meet the princesses. For months, they talked about going to Disney and meeting the princesses. It was the first thing we scheduled for our Disney trip and the first thing on our Magic Kingdom agenda.  We ended up getting to the Magic Kingdom way early that morning because after having planned the breakfast and reserved the time six months in advance, we didn’t want to miss our reservation. While waiting for our reservation at Cinderella’s Table, the girls got the chance to ride their first rides at the Magic Kingdom. They rode the carousel, Peter Pan’s Flight and It’s a Small World. It was apparent throughout the early morning activities that Chloe Jane was afraid we were going to be late for our breakfast with the princesses.

Alas, we got there on time. The girls first had their photo with Cinderella and got her autograph. Next we climbed the spiral staircase to the Royal Banquet Hall.  Soon after sitting down for breakfast, Snow White came to our table. She was followed by Princess Aurora, Ariel and Jasmine. The girls were thrilled to meet all the princesses and get their autographs.

Later, Chloe Jane expressed two quibbles with the breakfast.  One, as she explained, Tiana and Mulan were late for breakfast because she didn’t get a chance to see them there.  Second, she thought that Cinderella would be sitting at our table eating the pancakes and sausage too.  We told her that she was the hostess and she needed to stay downstairs and greet all her guests as they came in.

For us, it was great to start out the Disney vacation with such a wonderful event.  We knew that whatever happened after breakfast would just be icing on the princess cake.

Plus it’s not a bad morning, when I can be referred to repeatedly as “my lord” by the waitress and get my picture taken with Jasmine.
