We spent one day at the Animal Kingdom.  This park exceeded expectations.  We stayed so long that we closed it down and that was after getting up early for a breakfast with Mickey Mouse and friends.  Animal Kingdom is great for small kids.  With the combination of rides, animals, playground areas, and shows, it’s easy to spend all day there.  We started with the safari ride, but before we got there, the girls saw a face painting booth so we had to stop.  The safari ride had a great variety of animals:  giraffes, elephants, hippos, flamingos, antelope, lions, cheetahs, warthogs and rhinos.  You would have to spend all day walking around a zoo to see that many animals, but in the large safari trucks, Disney brings you to the animals in their habitats (well, in their Disney habitats).  We then saw an entertaining bird show and a musical production with Lion King characters.  After a lunch break, we saw more animals:  largest bat in the world, a Komodo dragon and a Tiger.  We then went to a playground so the girls could run around while Tommy napped on Mommy.  We ended the day with a wonderful production of Finding Nemo.  Even after the park closed at 7:00, we couldn’t just leave so we ate dinner at the Rainforest Cafe next to the park.
