On Saturday, we all went to the zoo.  It’s great to have a zoo membership.  There was a long line to get in the zoo, but we were able to skip the line and enter at the membership entrance.  Also, there is no pressure to try get your entrance fee’s worth by doing as much as you can.  We only did a couple of fun things.  We watched an elephant be fed and then we went into the parakeet exhibit.  Hundreds and hundreds of colorful little birds flying all around us (actually there are supposed to be 500 birds in the exhibit).  Ruth even had one land on her feeding stick.  She was able to bring it close so that Chloe Jane could pet the parakeet.  The parakeet stayed on Ruth’s feeding stick until Cara tried to grab it.  Then we took the kids on one ride on the carousel and a little time in a jumpy and they were ready for lunch.  We went for a nice lunch of fish fingers, salmon and fish, shrimp and scallop tacos at a Pub and Fish House near the zoo that overlooks the historic Oakland Cemetary.
