You can’t visit the Highlands, North Carolina without going to see some waterfalls. So while we were at the cabin, we bundled up the kids and set out to Cashiers to see Whitewater Falls. This is the tallest falls east of the Mississippi. You have to walk down a bunch of steps just to get to a viewing point. After the girls marveled at the falls for a little while, Chloe Jane decided she wanted to walk back up each and every step by herself. She made the trek and reached the top first with Holly following close behind. Of course, once Cara saw Chloe Jane walk up the stairs, she insisted on doing it too. The going was a bit tougher for this fledgling walker as Ruth had to help her bounce up every step of the way. Somehow after reaching the top, both girls still had a lot of energy left and ran all over the open field. Well, Chloe Jane ran all over the field and Cara desperately tried to keep up. Don’t worry, Chloe Jane kept a watchful eye on her little sister and would go back to get her whenever she couldn’t keep up.
