This weekend, we went on a family camp out at the Chattahoochee Nature Center.  Many thanks, to my cousin Dale who let us borrow a tent, sleeping bags and air-mattress liners for the sleeping bags.  Our tent was plenty big and we were camping in style.  After everyone got their tents set up, the nature center presented one of its rescue animals:  a Great Horned Owl.  The owl had lost one of its eyes in an accident and has trouble hunting as a result.  Afterwards, we took our flashlights and went on a night hike that ended on a boardwalk over the wetlands next to the Chattahoochee river.  Once we got back to the campsite, the kids roasted marshmallows and then curled up in their sleeping bags and went to sleep.

We all had lots of fun and will be sure to do it again sometime!  Because of all the night activities, the kids stayed up much later than they usually do.  As soon as we got home, Tommy went down to the playroom and crashed for a couple hours on the couch.
