Nemo Cake

In between a beach vacation and an out-of-town wedding, Care Bear turned two years old! The party was an underwater theme. Care Bear loves fish. She loves to look at them in the aquarium; she loves to see them in books; she loves to play with them as toys and she even loves to eat them.
Karen, Elizabeth and Matthew came to visit before the weekend. On Friday, they took Chloe Jane and Cara to Build-a-Bear (or Build-a-Pony for Chloe Jane at least). They also got to ride a food court carousel.
On Saturday, Pappa and Mimi and Pop-pop and Grandma joined the birthday festivities. Ruth made blueberry pancakes for everyone to start the day. The kids then made their own fish. They decorated the driveway with colorful chalk. Perhaps the highlight for Care Bear was the cake and ice cream. Of course, the cake was aquatic–Nemo and Dory from Finding Nemo. After blowing out the candles, Cara “found” Nemo in the frosting, picked him up and jammed in back in the frosting in order to cover him with tasty frosting.
After cake, the kids had fun whacking a Nemo pinata until it opened with all its hidden surprises. Thanks to everyone for making Cara’s second birthday party a fun one!
