On our first morning at Disney, we surprised the kids with Mickey and Minnie Mouse T-shirts we had brought with us. Even Mom and Dad wore Disney wear. The first thing we did at the Animal Kingdom was face painting. The kids love to have their faces painted. Then we went on the safari ride where we saw giraffes, cheetahs, hippos, rhinos. flamingos, elephants, zebras, lions and more. After a few minutes trying out the bongos, we stopped to take in the bird show.
Just before lunch, we scheduled an appointment (via Magic Bands) with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The kids got hugs and autographs and we all got a photo opp with the signature Disney Duo.
We had a leisurely lunch at one of my favorite lunch places: The Yak and Yeti followed by some walking tours for animals. We then let the kids run around in the DinoLand play area and finished the day with a couple of rides on the Triceratops ride and a cool treat of Mickey Mouse ice cream.
