Last week, the Atlanta Botanical Garden welcomed an exhibit of sculptures by reknowned scultptor Henry Moore.  Before the official opening on a Saturday, the Botanical Garden allowed members only to preview the exhibit on Friday.  This is what the Botanical Garden’s website said about the exhibit:

Moore in America, the landmark exhibition of monumental works by famed English sculptor Henry Moore, is coming to the Garden this spring. This collection of 20 major works, primarily cast in bronze, will be positioned throughout the lush plantings of the Garden.  In 2008 the Moore in America exhibition was ranked by TIME magazine among the Top 10 museum exhibits in the country.

Henry Moore is widely acclaimed as the most important sculptor of the 20th century. This spring, the Garden launches a new era with the show TIME magazine called one of the Top 10 Museum Exhibitions of 2008: Moore in America. This is the final destination of the tour, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see 20 of Henry Moore’s monumental sculptures in a single exhibition.

I took the afternoon off and we all went to the Gardens.  The weather was beautiful and the kids enjoyed the outing.  Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see many of the impressive Henry Moore sculptures at the Garden in my photos because although the exhibit was ranked by TIME magazine as one of the Top 10 Museum Exhibitions in the country,  I was mostly taking photos of two of the top three exhibits in the world.

Oh well, I guess we’re just going to have to go back and take a look at those monumental sculptures one day.
