Too Cool for Pre-school
For the first Saturday of Spring, we took the kids and Mac to Piedmont Park. It was sunny and 70 degrees. The kids ran in the grass. They weren’t used to having so much open space. Cara toddled about on the uneven terrain. At one point, she sat down on a small hill and scooted down on her bottom. Chloe Jane was interested in roots–not her roots; actual roots of trees sticking out of the ground near the pond.

Finally . . . short sleeves!

Enough pictures, Daddy!

Sunny Saturday gave way to a rainy Sunday so we took them to the Aquarium. The first thing Chloe Jane asked to do once we got to the Aquarium was to go on the slide. There is a large whale that you can slide down and out its mouth. Unfortunately, it was under repair so she couldn’t do it. She tried to go on the other slide, but they told her she was too small. She did get to climb in a few tubes and ultimately had to coax Cara out of them when she followed Chloe Jane inside.

Through the Looking Glass
Chloe Jane asked to see the Otters and the huge Spider Crabs. The Spider Crabs were big and creepy–I don’t know why she likes them. Unfortunately, the Sea Otter exhibit is under construction set to open this summer (with sea otters, dolphins, sea lions and penguins) so we went to see the river otters, but they were sleeping. Don’t worry, they both still had lots of fun at the aquarium.
This time the kids saw a bunch of divers in addition to the sea life. There was a diver in the tropical tank who waved at Chloe Jane. Then in the main tank, there was a whole tour of divers in the water (a new program at the Aquarium where you can sign up to scuba dive with the fishes). Later, Chloe Jane said she liked seeing the “diver man” at the aquarium.

What's up there?

"One fish, two fish . . ."

Swimming Sharp-tooth!

Keep moving, buddy, just keep moving
